Dr. Sai Ganesh Pillai, MBBS, MS (General Surgery), FRCS (Edin), FRCS (Glasg), is a distinguished Consultant in General and Laparoscopic Surgery, currently practising at our Sharjah Branch in Rolla Square. Over his career, he has performed more than 15,000 major surgeries, including complex procedures such as thyroidectomy, appendectomy, hernioplasty, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, gastroscopy, colonoscopy, oesophagogastrectomy, and laparoscopy-assisted abdominoperineal resection.

The Doctor
Dr. Sai Ganesh Pillai, MBBS, MS (General Surgery), FRCS (Edin), FRCS (Glasg), is a highly accomplished Consultant in General and Laparoscopic Surgery with over two decades of experience. He completed his graduation and post-graduation at Trivandrum Medical College, Kerala, India.
Following his postgraduate studies, Dr. Pillai pursued advanced training in Surgical Gastroenterology and Laparoscopic Surgery in England. In recognition of his exceptional performance, he was awarded fellowships by the Royal Colleges of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Glasgow in 1997.
Further acknowledging his excellence, the Royal College of Surgeons, Glasgow conferred upon him a prestigious travelling fellowship. This enabled him to train in advanced laparoscopic surgery under Mr. Marescoe in France—one of the pioneers in the field. He also worked alongside renowned surgeons like Mr. Alfred Cuschieri, gaining valuable experience in cutting-edge surgical techniques.
During his decade-long career in the UK, Dr. Pillai served in reputed institutions such as Bristol Royal Infirmary, Royal Hospital Chesterfield, Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, and Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, Dundee. His clinical expertise spans Surgical Gastroenterology, Surgical Oncology, Microvascular Surgery, Cardiac Surgery, and Thoracic Surgery.
Currently, Dr. Sai Ganesh Pillai oversees a network of multi-speciality medical and dental clinics across Dubai and Sharjah. His surgical career encompasses over 15,000 major procedures, including Thyroidectomy, Appendectomy, Hernioplasty, Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy, Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, Esophagogastrectomy, and Laparoscopy-assisted Abdominoperineal Resection.
He also serves as a visiting consultant at leading hospitals, including Al Zahra Hospital, Sharjah. Through his clinics, Dr. Pillai is committed to delivering accessible, world-class healthcare to communities across Dubai, Sharjah, and the Northern Emirates.
